Aloha

My name is Lee McIntosh. I am running for Hawaii County Council District 6.

There are six core values that will guide me as we work together to solve problems facing our county:

  • life
  • liberty
  • limited but effective government
  • individual responsibility
  • fiscal accountability
  • equality of opportunity

Life- government derives its power from, you, the people.
Liberty- the purpose of government is to protect your God given rights.
Limited but effective government- big government continually encroaches upon your liberty.
Individual responsibility- I trust you more than the government to make better decisions about your life.
Fiscal accountability- government should be held responsible for how your tax dollars are spent.
Equality of opportunity- you should be allowed the chance to succeed in life.

There are a number of issues that have plagued our island for years. It’s time to identify sensible solutions and start taking action. Property taxes, affordable housing, the building code, and addressing the needs of our children and seniors are some of the issues that I will tackle if elected.

If you have any issues or concerns that have not been addressed, please feel free to discuss them with me. Only by solving problems together will we be able to make a positive difference for the future of our island.
